On my way home from Bangkok, I was surprised with a business class ticket on China Airlines for my Bangkok to Taipei leg of my trip back to Los Angeles. I stopped by the China Airlines Lounge around 430PM or so, an hour before my flight.
This lounge is located in Concourse D (west-side), on the Third Floor, after you pass the security lines. You cannot purchase access and they do not accept reservations. It has 74 total seats and is open from 5:30 am to 7pm daily.
The lounge was completely empty when I entered which was amazing! 30 minutes later though, the lounge completely filled up to capacity. Great timing for me!
One of my favorite things about the lounge is that they had fresh coconuts in the fridge to self-serve. I had two in the short time that I was there and would have tried many more but I was short on time!
They had a pretty nice looking beef noodle soup and a great selection of dim sums
Drinks including beer, Thai Ice Tea (nice!), and freshly cut fruit
Also included: Chicken Roll, Spinach Pie, Apple Pie, Blueberry Pastry, Mixed Vegetable Sandwich, and of course the Tuna Sandwich, present at every Asian lounge, with the crust cut off of course
A pretty snazzy massage chair!
China Airlines Business Class Flight, Bangkok to Taipei
It was a nice and easy flight and boarding from Bangkok to Taipei for the 3 hour and 40 minute flight. I sure wished that I had business class tickets for my Taipei to Los Angeles leg but this was definitely a nice bonus.
There were a total of 30 seats in the cabin, in a 2-2-2 configuration, with five total rows.
The seat was comfy. It was not lie flat, which was fine for the relatively short flight.
The stewardesses came out shortly after we boarded and handed us the menus.
The options included two fusion Asian options and one authentic Thai option. You could choose from:
- Braised Beef Brisket with Rice
- Massaman Curry Chicken with Rice
- Thai Hot & Sour Soup with Rice Noodle
The appetizer included a Smoked Duck with Quinoa Salad and a plate of fresh fruits
For the main event, I chose the Beef Brisket with rice!
Dessert included Mango Panna Cotta with Raspberry Sauce or Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream!
